Walking Tours
Free guided walking tours of the Downtown Greenway are a great way to explore and learn all the intricacies of the greenway. Join us to learn how the greenway came to be, Greensboro’s history, surrounding neighborhoods, public art installations, environmental stewardship, community stories, economic impact, future projects, and more.
Tours start and finish at LoFi Park (500 N. Eugene Street) and are led by Program Coordinator, Chelsea Phipps, or Project Manager, Dabney Sanders. Each tour is approximately 3 hours and will cover the entire 4-mile loop, including the three miles of completed greenway and also the future section currently under construction along the western side.
Tours are offered monthly (dates vary) on Saturday mornings from 9 am to 12 noon from February through November. Space is limited to 25 people for each tour.
Golf Cart Tours
For those looking for a shorter and more accessible tour option, consider a golf cart tour of the Downtown Greenway. Join us to learn how the greenway came to be, Greensboro’s history, surrounding neighborhoods, public art installations, environmental stewardship, community stories, economic impact, future projects, and more.
Led by Project Manager, Dabney Sanders, each tour will take 1.5 hours to complete the 4-mile loop of the Downtown Greenway, and will start and finish at the corner of S. Elm Street and E. Gate City Boulevard (702 S. Elm Street).
Tours are offered various days/times from February through June and September through November. Space is limited to 5 guests per tour. A donation of $10 per person is suggested, however, not required; these funds help ensure the continuity of these tours.
