After 25 years of planning, partnership, advocacy, and community support, the Downtown Greenway is finally coming full circle!
To celebrate this once-in-a-generation milestone, the community is invited to the Full Circle Gala on Friday, May 29 from 7-10 pm at Cadillac Service Garage. As the signature finale event of GreenMAY on the Greenway, the evening will honor the completion of the Downtown Greenway’s full four-mile loop encircling downtown Greensboro – a transformational project decades in the making.
The celebration will feature live music by the UNCG Jazz Ensemble, dynamic entertainment from Circus EVO, food by 1618 On Location with Downtown Greenway signature cocktails and mocktails, and more! Guests will also receive a special hand-painted keepsake commemorating the occasion and be the first to experience the world premiere of our new documentary film, highlighting the people, stories, and vision that helped shape the transformational project.
More than a celebration of a completed trail, the Full Circle Gala recognizes the partnerships and community spirit that transformed a bold idea into one of Greensboro’s most impactful public spaces – connecting neighborhoods, encouraging active transportation, showcasing public art, supporting environmental stewardship, and creating meaningful experiences for residents and visitors alike.
Remarks recognizing this historic milestone will take place at 8 pm.
Garden party attire is encouraged.
