Stream Walk on College Branch

April 29, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

STREAM WALK ON COLLEGE BRANCH

Monday, April 29, 2019

Please come and help as the College community visits and cleans up its adopted stream.

WHEN: Monday, April 29; 2:00-4:00 pm (has been changed from April 26 due to inclement weather)

WHERE: Please meet at the north (Market St.) end of the parking lot behind the library on the Greensboro College Campus(near the railroad tracks).

WHAT TO WEAR: Stream walkers should wear long pants and shoes (not open sandals) that can get wet and/or dirty. You do NOT HAVE to get wet! Orange trash bags and gloves will be provided by the Greensboro Water Resources Department.

CollegeBranch is the permanent stream on the eastern (downtown) border of Greensboro College. With the help of the City of Greensboro, the College adopted CollegeBranch as “our ” stream almost  fifteen years ago.  As part of our adoption, we patrol the stream at least once a year. Thus on Friday April 21, we will patrol CollegeBranch along the campus, record its overall condition, and pick up as much trash as we can from the stream banks.  (22 bags were filled last year!)
