The Downtown Greenway may be complete, but its story is just beginning! Following the grand opening of Greensboro’s 4-mile Downtown Greenway in May 2026, we’re excited to introduce Friends of the Downtown Greenway, a new way for community members to support and sustain this treasured public space for years to come.
Through a partnership with Greensboro Downtown Parks Inc., this new Friends group offers an opportunity for individuals, families, and businesses to invest in the continued activation of the Downtown Greenway. Contributions directly support the free community programs, special events, and educational experiences that bring people together, connect neighborhoods, and make the greenway a vibrant destination year-round.
Becoming a Friend is easy, with annual memberships starting at just $12 per year. Whether you walk, run, bike, volunteer, participate in programs, or simply appreciate the value of this unique community asset, there’s a place for you among our Friends.
Every membership and donation, regardless of size, helps us continue creating welcoming, accessible opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn, explore, and connect.
As we celebrate the completion of this transformational project, we invite you to be part of its next chapter.
Become a Friend of the Downtown Greenway today and help keep our community connected for generations to come!
