Downtown Greenway Run & Walk Club
Come out every Thursday evening at 6 pm for a casual, social run or walk along the Downtown Greenway. The group meets at LoFi Park (500 N. Eugene Street) and typically covers 2-4 miles. The run crowed usually completes the full 4-mile loop, including some neighborhood streets along the detour route of the future Western Branch section. Help create beautiful public art while learning from an expert! Members of the community will collaborate to design and create large mosaic stepping stones, while working alongside acclaimed artist, Theresa Arico, of Chapel Hill. The finished landscape pavers will be added around Arico's own public art piece "Vigilance" located along the Downtown Greenway at the corner of E. Market Street and Murrow Boulevard. Join us for a free guided walking tour of the Downtown Greenway! We will share a wealth of information about the greenway, Greensboro's history, surrounding neighborhoods, public art installations, environmental stewardship, economic impact, and more! Each tour will take approximately 3 hours to complete the 4-mile loop of the Downtown Greenway. Pre-registration is required, and each tour can accommodate 20 guests maximum.
