Public Meeting for Phase 4 to review 75% design plans

Join us for drop-in Public Meetings for Phase 4 on Thursday, November 30 from 11:30-1 pm and 4:30-6 pm at The Public at Morehead Foundry located at 433-105 Spring Garden Street. The focus of this meeting will be on the railroad corridor along the western edge of downtown heading northwest from Spring Garden Street to just north of Benjamin Parkway and the Mitchell Water Treatment Plant. The public is invited to review the designs at the 75% stage of completion. Representatives from Kimley-Horn, GDOT, and Action Greensboro will be present to explain, answer questions and receive comments. There will be no formal presentation. This is the last opportunity to provide feedback before the final plans are complete.

Food & Entertainment: Morehead Foundry will  have their Grill Truck on site and will offer hamburgergs, hotdogs, veggi burgers, chips & wraps for purchase and will have The Baker and The Bean Truck full of sweet treats for purchase. In addition, Four Flocks & Larder and Revolution Burger will be open for dinner.  Preyer Brewing will have several beer options for purchase.  Morehead Foundry will have a Halloween cookie decorating table for kids. LoFi Park in Greensboro a new magnet for Downtown

LoFi Park on the Downtown Greenway was dedicated on Saturday, September 23 with a short program with Mayor Nancy Vaughan, Home Sight bench artist Jeannette Brossart, and Councilman Justin Outling making remarks. We are excited to announce that First Bank (formerly Carolina Bank) will be the title sponsor for the 8th Annual Run 4 the Greenway on Saturday, October 28, 2017.  The run and party will be at a new location this year- Morehead Park on the Downtown Greenway located at 475 Spring Garden Street. LimeBikes bikeshare program coming to Greensboro!

LimeBike will kick-off the city-wide expansion of the bike share program at First Friday on Friday, August 4th at 5:30 pm.  Come out on Friday to the block of 513 South Elm Street to take a test drive and find out more about the program.   Earlier this month, City Council approved a two-year agreement that allows LimeBike to offer bicycles for a fee anywhere in the city limits. People can use the LimeBike app to locate and rent a bicycle for $1 per half hour. LimeBike is already offered on the UNCG campus for $0.50 per half hour for students, faculty and staff. LimeBike plans to deliver 800 more three-speed bikes to Greensboro to be used at UNCG, NC A&T and in downtown Greensboro in early August. Downtown Greensboro Inc. and Action Greensboro officials are working with center city merchants to identify locations where the bikes can be parked. After the official bike share celebration stay for First Friday on the Block from 6-9pm on S. Elm St between MLK Jr. Drive & Lewis Street. Dedication of LoFi Park at Smith and Eugene

Mark your calendar for the afternoon of Saturday, September 23 for the dedication of LoFi Park on the Downtown Greenway located at the corner of West Smith Street and North Eugene Street in front of Joymongers Brewery. Neighborhood bench artist Jeanette Brossart will attend for the dedication. Stay tuned for details in the coming weeks.
