• A greenway with a positive impact on the community
• Inform Greensboro of Warnersville’s significance – past, present & future

• Expanded exposure to neighborhoods by walking and bicycling in contrast to riding in automobiles
• Bring neighborhood people together for a common goal.

What concerns do you have with respect to the greenway?

• How will safety concerns of people in the neighborhood as well as people on the greenway be addressed?
• How will pets be accommodated on the greenway?

What personal impact do you anticipate will result from the greenway?

• An upgrade in property values resulting from increased awareness of Warnersville community assets.
• It will bring new people (strangers) into the neighborhood.

Where is Warnersville?

• East – West between the railroad tracks and  Freeman Mill Road
• North – South between Lee Street and  Florida Street
• GDOT is analyzing technical issues for crossing Eugene St. at Bragg St.

What does this process sound/feel like to you? Is it similar to some of your prior experiences?

• Previous additions, alterations and renovations to the neighborhood have been more specific to private development and particular areas and did  not have strong relationships to the entire neighborhood.

What is the future impact of this project?

• The neighborhood and surrounding areas are going to be influenced by the South Elm St. redevelopment project, development on the Lee St. corridor and the Price School redevelopment.

Why is this work important?

• The greenway will connect all of the neighborhoods in its path (N, S, E, & W).

How will this process feel genuine?

• Input from the community

Who else needs to be invited to the three conversations?

• Everyone who is affected by the greenway on a permanent basis
• It will affect everyone within the boundaries of Warnersville  - the community as a whole.

Who should be represented in addition to residents?

• Churches
• Law enforcement
• Owners whose property is directly connected to the greenway are very important.
• Residential
• Businesses
• Also businesses on Eugene Street

How can these individuals be contacted?

• Word of mouth
• Each individual could contact ten people.
• Fliers
• Letters
• Media: radio, TV, newspapers
• Develop a website about the greenway specifically for Warnersville

How do we engage kids in the conversations?

• Community center/s mailings
• School programs
• Kids clubs

How do we engage senior citizens?

• Door to door contact w/ transportation provided

What are the strategies for getting people to the conversations?

• A good location
• Shiloh Baptist Church

How should we communicate with/between conversations?

• Delegate “reporters” to facilitate communication & small group conversations between scheduled conversations.
• The conversations need to be open for discussion of all options/concerns (both positive & negative) in order to assure ownership of the project by all participants.
