Sign up now for the Run 4 the Greenway

Sign up now for the Run 4 the Greenway with choices of an 8K and a 1-mile walk/run on Saturday, September 11.  There will be music, entertainment, food and beverage for all at Greensboro’s Center City Park.  Proceeds go to the Maintenance Endowment for the Downtown Greenway. 

 

The 1 Mile Walk/Run will begin at 5 p.m., and the 8K at 5:30 p.m. The nearly five-mile course will feature an urban loop following the Downtown Greenway detour route and through the first constructed phase of the Greenway. (View the complete race route online.)

Runners registering before Aug. 30, 2010 will receive $5 off of the $30 registration fee for the 8K race. Registration for the 1-Mile Walk/Run is $15, and free for children 12 and under. All race proceeds will go to the Maintenance Endowment Fund for the Greenway.

Advanced packet pick up will be at Premier Commercial Bank (701 Green Valley Road, Suite 102) on Friday, September 10^th from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm. Packet pick up on the day of the race will be at Center City Park beginning at 3:30 pm. 

The last day to register online is Thursday, September 9th at 12noon!

Day of registration will be from 3:30 to 4:30pm at Center City Park on September 11, 2010. Only cash and check will be accepted!

The event will also feature an afternoon of food, entertainment and activities for all ages beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Center City Park. Greensboro-based acoustical talent Evan Olson and Dana will be the featured musical guest for the afternoon. Children's activities will include an Elsewhere Artist Collaborative Bike Game Show (with stuffed animal prizes from Mack Truck, MetLife, Aflac and the Greensboro Grasshoppers) and Reflective Tape Craft Station. Other activities will include balloon art and Downtown Greenway temporary tattoos! Admission to the event is free.

Volunteer opportunities are available for anyone interested in helping with advance promotion of the event or on-site race day assistance.
