Woven Works Wednesdays: Food

The Downtown Greenway is offering 3 programs on fitness, fiction and food this summer on the Downtown Greenway called Woven Works Wednesdays. Each program will be held at Woven Works Park on the Downtown Greenway located at the corner of Lindsay and Murrow Boulevard. The Downtown Greenway is partnering with the Bryan YMCA, Greensboro Farmers Curb Market, the Edible Schoolyard at the Greensboro Children’s Museum, the Greensboro Public Library, and Think Eat Grow to offer the 3 programs.

On Wednesday, July 25 from 10-11am, a Bryan YMCA fitness instructor will teach a 30-minute Zumba class. Participants will learn how to stay fit and active this summer while using the elements of play at Woven Works Park (WWP).

Participants will learn about and discover insects found at the Bird, Bee, and Butterfly Pollinator Garden at Woven Works Park with help from Greensboro Public Library Staff on Wednesday, August 8 from 10-11am.  Kids will receive a free book from the Little Free Library at WWP.

The last program will be on Wednesday, August 22 from 10-11am. Staff from the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market, Think Eat Grow, & The Edible Schoolyard will provide a Local Food Tasting & easy recipes to do at home!  Tips on how to eat healthy on a budget by using local foods followed by an optional scavenger hunt at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market.

Programs are free and all ages are welcome. On-street parking available on Cumberland and Bluford Streets.  Lemonade & light snacks provided.
