Stream Walk on College Branch Clean-Up

April 21, 2017 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

photo 8

Please come and help as the Greensboro College community visits and cleans up its adopted stream.

WHEN: Friday April 21   2:30-4:30 pm

WHERE: Please meet at the north (Market St.) end of the parking lot behind the library  (near the railroad tracks).

WHAT TO WEAR: Stream walkers should wear long pants and shoes (not open sandals) that can get wet and/or dirty.

(You do NOT HAVE to get wet!)

Orange trash bags and gloves will be provided by the Greensboro Water Resources Department. College Branch is the permanent stream on the eastern (downtown) border of Greensboro College. The College adopted College Branch as “our ” stream more than ten years ago, with the help of the City of Greensboro (look for the sign on the bridge at Market St.). As part of our adoption, we patrol the stream at least once a year. Thus on Friday April 21, we will patrol College Branch along the campus, record its overall condition, and pick up as much trash as we can from the stream banks. (@30 bags taken last year!)
For further information, contact Dr. Cal Bond 272-7102 x5353 or bondc@greensboro.edu

This event is brought to you by the Department of Natural Sciences, Beta Beta Beta, and the Pre-Health Club of Greensboro College.
