Phase 4 Public Meetings set for August 15

Join us for drop-in Public Meetings for Phase 4 on Tuesday, August 15 from 11:30-1 pm and 4:30-6 pm at The Public at Morehead Foundry located at 433-105 Spring Garden Street. The focus of this meeting will be on the railroad corridor along the western edge of downtown heading northwest from Spring Garden Street to just north of Benjamin Parkway and the Mitchell Water Treatment Plant. The public is invited to review the designs at the 50% stage of completion. Representatives from Kimley-Horn, GDOT, and Action Greensboro will be present to explain, answer questions and receive comments. There will be no formal presentation. Public Meeting scheduled for August 22 for Phase 1c along Bragg Street

Public meetings to review 50% design of Phase 1c along Bragg Street have been set for Tuesday, August 22nd from 4:30-6 pm at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church located at 408 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.  Parking will be available in the church parking lot.  Members of the project team will be available to answer questions and feedback received from the public will be used to fine-tune the design. Call to Artists for next neighborhood artist bench

We are seeking applications from artists for the next neighborhood artist bench on the Downtown Greenway. This is the fourth neighborhood bench commissioned for the Downtown Greenway. It will be located on a section of the trail that runs along Bragg Street at the intersection of Arlington Street. The artist will be asked to collaborate with residents from Greensboro’s Asheboro Square and Arlington Park neighborhoods through a Community Meeting and incorporate concepts generated by that collaboration into the design of the bench. Want to join in? Here's how it works: Take a photo--- or a selfie--- while shopping, dining, or drinking at Crafted Art of Street Food, Preyer Brewing Company, Joymongers Brewing Company, or Deep Roots Market. Photos should be taken between now and January 1, 2017. During this time-frame, post your photos to a public Instagram profile. Each photo posted for consideration must include one of these three tags: #DowntownGreenway or #soGSO or tag @downtowngreenway via Instagram. Each Wednesday, between December 14, 2016 and January 4, 2017, we will announce a winner of a $50 gift card to one of the local establishments. Additionally, we will announce the "People's Choice Award" on January 4th for a $25 gift card to each of the four, totaling $100! Photos will be judged by a committee of Action Greensboro and the Downtown Greenway. Yes 4 Greensboro Bonds Passed!

Thank you to all the who turned out to vote on Election Day and supported all four of the Yes 4 Greensboro Bonds! With the passage of these bonds, funding for construction of Phase 4 (the railroad corridor) of the Downtown Greenway has been secured as well as funding to extend the A&Y Greenway from Markland to Hill Street.
