Bragg Street Ribbon Cutting & MLK Jr. Bust Dedication

Join us to celebrate the official opening of the section of the Downtown Greenway along Bragg Street from Eugene to MLK Jr. Blvd and the dedication of the MLK Jr. bust in its new location at the corner of Bragg and MLK Jr. Blvd. on Monday, January 21 at 2:00 pm after the MLK Jr. Day Parade.  Click here to read article in News & Record about the MLK Jr. bust and Downtown Greenway art pieces on the newest section of the Downtown Greenway. Construction has started again!

Construction has started on Phase 1c between Bragg Street/Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and Gate City Blvd/Murrow Blvd. Anticipated construction completion by end of the year. The contract was approved at Tuesday night's City Council meeting for Phase 3c along Smith Street between Prescott and Spring Streets. Anticipated start of construction in August. Two Meetings planned for input on next public art piece on the Downtown Greenway in Ole Asheboro and Asheboro Square

Downtown Greenway just keeps getting better

Final Design Plans for Phase 4 of the Downtown Greenway

If you were unable to attend the Public Meetings for Phase 4 on November 30, you can still review the plans and leave comments.   Click here to review the plans.  Click here to take the short survey and share your comments.  Deadline for comments is December 15. Phase 4 consists of the railroad corridor along the western edge of downtown heading northwest from Spring Garden Street to just north of Benjamin Parkway and the Mitchell Water Treatment Plant. The design plans are at the 75% stage of completion; this is the last opportunity to provide feedback before the final plans are complete.

Holy Trinity and the Downtown Greenway

Public Meeting for Phase 4 to review 75% design plans

Join us for drop-in Public Meetings for Phase 4 on Thursday, November 30 from 11:30-1 pm and 4:30-6 pm at The Public at Morehead Foundry located at 433-105 Spring Garden Street. The focus of this meeting will be on the railroad corridor along the western edge of downtown heading northwest from Spring Garden Street to just north of Benjamin Parkway and the Mitchell Water Treatment Plant. The public is invited to review the designs at the 75% stage of completion. Representatives from Kimley-Horn, GDOT, and Action Greensboro will be present to explain, answer questions and receive comments. There will be no formal presentation. This is the last opportunity to provide feedback before the final plans are complete.  

LoFi Park in Greensboro a new magnet for Downtown

LoFi Park on the Downtown Greenway was dedicated on Saturday, September 23 with a short program with Mayor Nancy Vaughan, Home Sight bench artist Jeannette Brossart, and Councilman Justin Outling making remarks.
